Miyako, the Dog (犬のみやこ) is an appeared character in Watashi ni Tenshi ga Maiorita! Series. It is a puppy of Koko Matsumoto and Yu Matsumoto.

Appearance

Miyako sports orange fur with white patches around its mouth, paws, tail, belly, and inside its ears. Its eyes are dot-shaped and white, outlined with black. Overall, Miyako resembles a baby Shiba Inu.

Additionally, Miyako wears a vibrant red dog collar adorned with its name, "Miyako," and a bone-shaped dog tag that hangs from it.

Personality

Miyako is a docile, obedient, and playful puppy. It often plays dead when Yu pretends to shoot with a finger gun and says "Bang!", Miyako seems to also knows other tricks like giving its paw when Yu asks for it, according to the moment she asks the actual Miyako to do the same.

However, Miyako becomes enraged when it meets Koyori, who animals generally seem to dislike. It's revealed that Miyako's unusual behavior stems from its protective instinct to bark or lash out at people Yu dislikes.

Story

Miyako makes its debut at the end of Episode 1, where Koko Matsumoto and Yu Matsumoto visit Miyako Hoshino's house

Then, in Episode 8, Koko takes Miyako for a vaccination, but it escapes. Koko gets separated from Yu during the chase. Miyako meets Hana and Noa in a department store, where they play briefly. When Miyako notices Koko, it returns to her. Grateful for their help, Koko apologizes to Hana for the scare and explains her tendency to get lost with Yu. She shows them a photo of Yu and the dog, and they offer to help find her.

Etymology

The name Miyako means "capital, metropolis" (みやこ).

Trivia

• Koko Matsumoto named it after Miyako Hoshino.
  • Hana and Noa are aware of this, but after Hana suggests that sometimes ignorance is bliss, they agree to keep it as a secret.
  • Miyako herself is initially unaware. However, she later realizes the truth when she encounters Koko outside, but she doesn't take it seriously anyway.
